START Article Published in the Journal of Addiction Medicine

Brooklyn, N.Y – START Treatment & Recovery Centers (START) is pleased to announce its recent article publication in the March/April issue of the Journal of Addiction Medicine.

Entitled, Improvements in HCV-related Knowledge among Substance Users on Opioid Agonist Therapy after an Educational Intervention, this publication features the collaborative efforts of the esteemed staff at START, the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Buffalo, and Weill Cornell Medical College that work diligently to provide the utmost in compassionate treatment and recovery for substance abuse and other co-occurring conditions.

The provision of hepatitis C (HCV) education to patients is part of an overall effort to treat patients with this disease at START’s medication-assisted opioid treatment program sites utilizing telemedicine that brings the required specialty care to the patient, rather than having the patient go to the specialist for care.

With a continued mission to educate the general public in the field of addiction medicine, START is honored to be featured in the latest publication of the Journal of Addiction Medicine.
