START's East New York Clinic Earns 3-Year OASAS Re-Certification

START has received even more good news!

Following news that all of START’s MAT programs had received a maximum 3-year re-accreditation by CARF and that our Fort Greene clinic had earned the elite distinction of a 3-year re-certification New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), we have just learned that our East New York clinic has achieved the same feat! That makes for a remarkable 6 START clinics to have earned this distinction in just the last year.

Along with Fort Greene, East New York now joins our Starting Point, Third Horizon, Kaleidoscope, and Highbridge programs at the forefront of the addiction treatment industry as programs with both max accreditation and certification (meaning that both the governmental organization and non-profit oversight organization overseeing addiction programs have deemed us as performing at the highest level of our industry).

As we’ve said before, these are not achievements to be taken lightly. In addition to operating at the highest level on a daily basis, the accreditation and certification processes are rightfully very rigorous. Recognitions like this distinguish START as being at the forefront of addiction treatment, and at a time when there is more urgency to combatting opioid addiction than ever before, we could not be prouder. Further, we continue to operate as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and not only are we accredited and certified at the highest levels, but we both follow and help shape the highest evidence-based standards through our industry-leading biomedical and behavioral research initiatives.

In short, if you or a loved is seeking treatment for an opioid addiction, we believe that you will not find a better option than START Treatment & Recovery Centers. For other addictions as well, we have a drug-free chemical dependence program in Harlem called REACH.

If for any reason START is not the program for you, we urge anyone with an addiction to do their research before admitting themselves to any treatment program. For a full list of OASAS-certified programs, see here, and to look up CARF-accredited programs, go here and specify “Opioid Treatment Programs” in the “Program Focus” field.

Finally, to all our staff and stakeholders, congratulations on yet another outstanding achievement!
